Trichoderma harzianum is a beneficial fungus that is widely used as a fungicide for suppression of various plant fungal diseases as well as a bio-fertilizer for improvement of plant growth and performance. Disease suppression can be promoted either indirectly by competing for nutrients and space, or directly by mechanisms such as mycoparasitism and triggering induced systemic resistance. Several formulations of Trichoderma have been commercially developed for biological control of plant soil-borne pathogens such as diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani, Macrophomina phaseolina, Pythium aphanidermatum, P. ultimum, and Fusarium oxysporum.
Trichorun P is an efficient bio-fertilizer and bio-fungicide that is produced as wettable powder (WP) and can be used to improve growth and protect field and greenhouse crops as well as fruit and ornamental trees against a wide range of soil-borne fungal diseases.
For field crops and fruit or ornamental trees, Trichorun P can be used according to the following table.
Crops | Method of Application | Descriptions |
---|---|---|
Field and greenhouse crops | Seed treatment | Mix 5-15 grams of Trichorun P with 1 kg of moistened seeds at the time of sowing. |
Field and greenhouse crops | Seedling treatment | Add 100 grams of Trichorun P to 10 liter of water and inoculate the seedling roots in the solution for 15 min. |
Field and greenhouse crops | Top-dressing | Mix 2 kg of Trichorun P with adequate volume of water and release uniformly in irrigation water for 1 ha. |
Fruit and ornamental trees | Top-dressing | Mix 2-3 kg of Trichorun P with adequate volume of water and release uniformly in irrigation water for 1 ha. |
Fruit and ornamental trees | Winter fertilization | Make one or two holes (40 cm deep) under tree canopy depending on tree age. Use 25 grams of Trichorun P along with manure or humus for each hole. |
