Biorun protein hydrolysate

Protein hydrolysate is one of the most important solutions for both monitoring and mass trapping of fruit flies (Mediterranean fruit fly, Cherry fruit fly, Olive fruit fly, Melon fruit fly, Oriental fruit fly) that causes damage during the fruiting stage. Biorun protein hydrolysate contains short-chain peptides, amino acids, and volatile compounds that are highly attractive to both female and male fruit flies.

1- Trapping

Fruit fly traps should be filled up to 250-300 cc of 10% protein hydrolysate solution and the recommended amount of appropriate insecticide. The traps should be hung on the northern side of the tree, at a height of approximately 1.5 to 2 meters and within the tree canopy. If the water in the trap evaporates, add water to the trap.

2- Bait-sprays

5 liters of protein hydrolysate were dissolved in 100 liters of water and were added to the recommended amount of appropriate insecticide. The final solution was sprayed on the northern side of the tree by a sprayer, a tree out of every 5 trees. Also, for crops, such as melons and cucumbers, bait spray to non-target plants on the edge or plot of the fields.
